Everything you need to know before and during your stay with us. Use the sections below to plan your journey, settle in quickly and make the most of your time in Eryri.

01

How to get here

Address: Gwern Hywel Isaf, Pentrefoelas, Betws-y-Coed, Conwy, LL24 0HS.

what3words: rainbow.roughness.unspoiled (this drops you right at our entrance).

We are located just outside the village of Pentrefoelas, off the A5. Our turning is a sharp, narrow lane directly opposite two houses, over a bridge with green railings. Please do not turn into Pentrefoelas village itself, as some sat-navs suggest.

From Betws-y-Coed (from the west, about 5 miles)

  • Head out of Betws-y-Coed on the A5 towards Pentrefoelas and Llangollen.
  • Continue for about 5 miles. After passing through Padog you will pass a right turn towards Ysbyty Ifan (B4407).
  • We are the next right: a sharp, narrow turning on a long stretch, directly opposite two houses. If you reach Pentrefoelas village, you have gone too far.
  • Follow the lane up, over a stone bridge, and into the woodland. Each cabin is signposted.

From the A5 (from the east)

  • Travelling towards Betws-y-Coed, we are the first left turn after you leave Pentrefoelas village, around 1 mile out.
  • It is a sharp left over a bridge, directly opposite two houses. Follow the lane up, over the stone bridge and into the woodland.

Travelling without a car

We are in a rural area and Uber is not available. For taxis we recommend pre-booking Goddard Taxis (07974 197780) a few days ahead. As an alternative, the Fflecsi on-demand bus serves the area: download the Fflecsi app or call 0300 234 0300, and choose 'Bron Cadnant' (at the end of our lane, near the bridge) as your pick-up and drop-off point. This service is limited on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

02

Arrival and departure

Check-in: from 15:00 to 23:00. Check-out: by 10:00 on the morning of departure.

Around a week before you arrive, we will email your check-in details and your key-safe code. Each cabin has a key safe by the door, so check-in is easy and contactless, and late arrivals are no problem. If you expect to arrive after 23:00, please let us know.

03

What's included

Our cabins are self-catering, but we provide plenty to get you started so you can relax the moment you arrive.

In the cabin

  • Bed linen, plus one bath towel and one hand towel per guest
  • Fully equipped kitchen: double hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle and cafetiere, with plates, cups, glasses and mugs
  • Cleaning starter pack: sponge, cloth, tea towel, kitchen roll, washing-up liquid and hand soap, plus toilet roll to get you going
  • Hairdryer, walk-in rainfall shower and a log burner
  • Wi-Fi and a smart TV (log in with your own Netflix, Disney+, iPlayer or other accounts)
  • Hot water bottles in the wardrobe, and a timed heated towel rail in the bathroom

Outside

  • Private wood-fired hot tub
  • Combination firepit, barbecue and pizza oven, with outdoor dining furniture

Your welcome hamper

Every stay begins with a welcome hamper of Welsh treats, including locally roasted ground coffee for the cafetiere, Welsh tea bags and snacks, along with sugar and milk to get you started.

Firewood starter pack

We provide a complimentary wood starter pack: a bag of kindling, a bag of fire blocks, two packs of logs, plus firelighters and a lighter. This is plenty for the first night or two. If you plan to make heavy use of the log burner, hot tub or firepit, you may wish to bring extra wood and firelighters, or top up locally.

What to bring

Toiletries such as shampoo and shower gel are not provided. We would also suggest packing walking boots, swimwear and an extra towel for the hot tub, as the towels in the cabin are intended for indoor use.

04

Parking and EV charging

You can park directly behind your cabin, or use the designated spaces as you enter the site. There is no need to carry your bags far.

Electric vehicle charging: we have two EV chargers on site, operated through the Monta app. To use them, download the Monta app, create an account, and you can start charging and pay directly at the charge point. If you would prefer to charge off site, there are also several fast charging points nearby, including in Betws-y-Coed.

Children and families

Families are very welcome at Porth Eryri Glamping. Our two larger cabins, Tryfan and Moel Siabod, sleep up to five and work best for four adults and one child, as the bunk above the double bed is ideal for a younger guest. Our A-frame cabins, Y Foel Las and Garn Prys, are designed for two adults.

Hot tub safety for children

  • The wood-fired hot tubs are not suitable for children under 5 years old.
  • Children must always be accompanied by an adult in and around the hot tub.
  • Always check the water temperature before anyone gets in.

A working farm

We sit within a 50-acre working farm, so there is space and freedom in the woodland, but also a few rules to keep everyone safe. All buildings and fields outside the woodland are out of bounds because of farm machinery and livestock. A strand of electric fencing runs along the edge of the woodland, please do not touch or climb over it, as it can give a shock. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on site, and we are a strictly no-dogs site due to the nearby farm animals.

See family-friendly things to do for rainy-day and child-friendly attractions.

06

Nearest shops and supplies

It is worth arriving with your main supplies, as we are pleasantly remote, but everyday essentials are only a short drive away.

  • Betws-y-Coed (5 miles): a Shell garage open 24 hours, a Spar and a couple of convenience stores.
  • Llanrwst (9 miles): the nearest town, with a wider choice of shops and supermarkets.
  • Bocs Bwyd (1 mile): our own cosy village cafe in Pentrefoelas, serving breakfast baps, takeaway pies, cakes and pizza nights every other Friday.

Firewood can be topped up locally if you run low, and the Shell garage in Betws-y-Coed is handy for any last-minute bits.

About us

Teleri & Gethin

Teleri and Gethin, the family behind Porth Eryri Glamping

Porth Eryri Glamping is a dream brought to life by us, Teleri and Gethin, a local couple deeply rooted in the heart of Eryri (Snowdonia). We were both raised in the charming village of Pentrefoelas, just a stone's throw from our glamping site, and this land holds a special place in our hearts.

We run Porth Eryri Glamping on our 50-acre farm on the edge of Eryri National Park, only 5 miles from Betws-y-Coed. Our site features four private, secluded cabins nestled within a tranquil three-acre woodland, and we have shaped it in a way that honours the natural beauty around us. Alongside the cabins we also run Bocs Bwyd, a cosy cafe in the heart of Pentrefoelas village.

Family is at the heart of everything we do, not least because we are raising our four young children here. Welsh (Cymraeg) is our first language, spoken in our home and throughout our village, and we are proud to share this part of our culture with you. We look forward to welcoming you to Porth Eryri Glamping very soon.
